MCS and NAPIT partner for InstallerSHOW 2022
7th June 2022
MCS and NAPIT will be attending InstallerSHOW 2022, the UK’s leading annual heating and plumbing event, 21-23 June at the NEC Birmingham.
At this year’s show, MCS and NAPIT are collaborating to showcase our commitment to home-grown energy, skills and quality.
Join us on stand J160 where we will be discussing how you can become MCS certified, plus how the industry can work together to close the skills gap and decarbonise homes across the UK.
Ian Rippin, CEO of MCS, said: “The InstallerSHOW brings together industry-leaders from across the renewables sector, showcasing the very best in technology and expertise. It provides an excellent platform for us to collaborate with the sector, highlight the benefits of MCS certification and spotlight the challenges our industry faces. We look forward to seeing you there.”
David Cowburn, Chief Operating Officer at NAPIT, said: “We are delighted to be joining MCS at the InstallerSHOW this year. Our experts will be on hand to provide information and advice on joining the MCS scheme with NAPIT, which upon successful application demonstrates competence to install a range of small-scale renewable and low-carbon technologies in both the domestic and commercial sectors.”
Industry-leading insight
InstallerSHOW 2022’s busy schedule of presentations and seminars features talks on net zero, retrofit and decarbonisation technology from a wealth of industry experts. Visitors will gain practical, hands-on guidance about the technologies that are transforming our industry.
On day two of the InstallerSHOW, MCS market development director, Dan White, will be chairing a panel on solar skills on Wednesday 22 June from 11am – 12pm. The session will examine how we can all support the expansion of the solar sector and what the sector needs to grow a skilled workforce.
Joining Dan on the panel will be:
• David Cowburn, chief operating officer, NAPIT
• Kevin McCann, policy manager, Solar Energy UK
• Lisa Bennett, principal policy and programmes officer – home energy efficiency, Greater London Authority
During the panel, we will also provide more details on our involvement in Solar Skills London alongside Solar Energy UK, the Greater London Authority and the Mayor of London. The project will create a dedicated pipeline of talent for the solar industry in the capital and beyond.
From 12pm – 1pm on 23 June, Ian Rippin, CEO of MCS, will join British Gas on a panel that will examine how delivery through collaboration is at the heart of social housing retrofit. This session will look how a partnership between British Gas/PH Jones and Midland Heart is tackling fuel poverty and supporting the landlord on the road to net zero. It will address the installation of lower-carbon energy and fabric first approaches, innovative technologies, plus the skills required for delivery at scale.
A space to network
What’s more, our affiliate partner, Solar Energy UK, is hosting a reception on the MCS/NAPIT stand on day two of the show. We hope to provide an opportunity to network (and relax!) over beer, wine, and soft drinks. More details to follow!
